Andrew Mudd - Men's Track and Field
The senior athlete Andrew Mudd ( Auburn, Mich. // Bay City Western HS ) finished first in the GLIAC Championships on Sunday in the men's heptathlon with a NCAA Championship automatic bid score of 5398. This score was also a new SVSU record, the previous was 5,344 total points.
Mudd will head to the NCAA Championships held by Pittsburg State in Pittsburg, Kan. on March 9 and 10, both beginning at 9 a.m.
Lauren Huebner - Women's Track and Field
Freshman Lauren Huebner (Saginaw, Mich. // Swan Valley HS) broke the SVSU record for her impeeccable second place preformance in the women's pentathlon on Saturday (Feb. 24) at the GLIAC Championships with a score of 3,542. This score also gave her a NCAA DII Championships provisional mark.
Huebner will await her fate to see if she will qualify for the NCAA DII Championships on March 9 and 10 in Pittsbug, Kan.
